Registration of Easements – a ticking clock – 8 July - 2 General CPD hours

This seminar, presented by the Conveyancing Committee in partnership with Law Society Professional Training, will discuss the significant developments relating to the registration of easements.

The Land and Conveyancing Law Reform Act 2009 radically changed the way in which easements and profits-à-prendre may be registered under Irish law. In this seminar speakers will discuss the changes to the registration of such interests in light of the 30 November, 2021 deadline, the issues arising for practitioners and guidance issued by the Conveyancing Committee in its practice notes. A panel of experts will be available to answer questions.

Topics: The botched reform of prescription?, What are the changes to the registration of easements and profits-a-prendre?, Implications for practice, Law Society practice notes

Speakers include: Patrick Sweetman, Partner, Matheson, Dublin; Keith McConnell, Partner, Gore Grimes, Dublin; Deirdre Fox, Principal, Deirdre Fox & Associates Solicitors, Co Wicklow and Peter Bland S.C., author of Easements (third edition published in 2015) and of Highways (published in 2020).

If you have any questions, or concerns about attending an online event, please do not hesitate to get in touch. A member of the Professional Training team will be glad to help.
