Advanced Advocacy Course for Solicitors
 |
A Diploma in Advocacy Skills is being offered to solicitors this autumn through collaboration between the Diploma Centre and the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA). This course will commence on Thursday 14 November 2019.
On completion of this training programme, participants will have:
- Developed their advocacy skills using the NITA method,
- Gained an understanding of applications that are made in the higher courts in key areas of practice in insolvency law, banking, family and employment law,
- Acquired valuable insights to recent judicial decisions and legislative and procedural developments.
International NITA advocacy trainers and Irish subject matter experts will use dynamic interactive teaching methods to lead participants through this valuable 6-day course. This contextualised approach to skills training involves role-play and situated learning and provides practitioners with a deeper and layered learning experience, which is particularly important in skills training. It aims to develop confidence in practitioners in their ability to perform in court and to get comfortable with their presentation skills, while providing a supportive forum in the workshop sessions to practice being ‘on their feet’.
NITA (America’s leading provider of legal advocacy skills training) embraces the importance of providing solicitors and trainees the opportunity to explore, develop, and reflect on their skills by examining the principles and practices of advocacy.
