The course comprises lectures and small group modules with experienced practitioners dealing with the key elements of and recent developments in general personal injuries claims. The plaintiff’s and the defendant’s perspective will be addressed. The topics will include; the Statute of Limitations; the Personal Injuries Assessment Board; PI practice and procedure under the Civil Liability and Courts Act 2004 and the Rules of Court; Damages (recent trends and issues); Section 26 applications; recent case law; the Recoverable Benefit Scheme; claims involving an injured child; actuarial evidence; good practice and ethical issues; and costs.
The course will take place at the Law Society of Ireland and the fee is €425/€350*
