CPD Webinar Clusters for May 2021 – include updates on family law, probate, remote Law Society inspections, prescriptive easements, redundancies in a pandemic and more
The Law Society Finuas Skillnet clusters are run in collaboration with the regional bar associations and will provide essential practice updates on key issues relevant to general practitioners. Each cluster is different. The first for 2021 are in May, followed by more in June, July and the autumn.
11 May – Essential Solicitor Update 2021 in partnership with the Leitrim Bar Association, Longford Bar Association, Roscommon Bar Association, and Sligo Bar Association
Speakers and topics include:
•Employment law and redundancies in a pandemic environment – Richard Grogan
•Probate 2021 - Padraic Courtney
•Solicitors accounts and banking regulation - Richard Hammond S.C.
•A Law Society Inspection - advice on remote audits – Fiona Stanley
•GDPR litigation: how to bring and how to defend a case – William McLoughlin B.L.
 
20 May – Midland General Practice Update 2021 in partnership with the Laois Solicitors’ Association, Kildare Bar Association, Midland Bar Association and Carlow Bar Association
Speakers and topics include:
•Probate 2021 - Padraic Courtney
•Banks and your Practice - Richard Hammond S.C
•Professional indemnity insurance: a guide for practitioners - Barry McCarthy

17 June – North West Practice Update 2021 in partnership with the Donegal Bar Association and Inishowen Bar Association
2 July – Solicitors’ Essential Update 2021 in partnership with the Clare Bar Association and Limerick Bar Association)
 
Topics, speakers and timings vary from venue to venue and offer a mix of general, regulatory matters and management and professional development CPD hours. In order to enable access for all, these events will be available to attend as webinars with live Q&As. All materials will be sent to delegates in advance.
There will be more Clusters announced in the coming weeks, further details are to be finalised.
