Increasing access to legal education and providing a more flexible route to becoming a solicitor is a key factor in the Society's new Professional Practice Course Hybrid (PPC Hybrid), which will launch in December 2019.
Committed to innovation in legal education
The development of the new PPC Hybrid follows the launch of the Peart Commission Report, containing 30 recommendations setting out a vision for the future of solicitor training in Ireland. More information on the Peart Commission Report is available on our website.
About the PPC Hybrid
The PPC Hybrid is specifically aimed at delivering a flexible route to the solicitor qualification without the traditional requirement for trainees to be onsite at Blackhall Place in Dublin full-time for a substantial continuous period.
The course is delivered through optimised blended learning, which combines face-to-face tuition with online lectures. It is also structured so that trainees will potentially be able to continue working during the PPC Hybrid, with onsite tuition occurring primarily at monthly weekend sessions.
The PPC Hybrid will commence with an induction day on 18 December 2019, at which iPads will be distributed and initial online lectures released.
