THE Essential Property Transactions Masterclass – starts November 2018

Enhance your understanding of the key areas of practice, from the fundamentals of property transactions through to complex and commercial property transactions.


This Property Transactions Masterclass is divided into three discrete modules:


  1. Fundamentals of Property Transactions
  2. Complex Property Transactions
  3. Commercial Property Transactions


Attend one, two or all three modules. Fees include an iPad, interactive eBook and OUP Conveyancing and Landlord & Tenant Law manuals.


Module 1: Fundamentals of Property Transactions will take place on the afternoon of Friday 30 November and on Saturday 1 December 2018.


Topics covered include Investigation of title, contracts, planning, searches, requisitions, undertakings and conflict of interest, ethical and regulatory issues, liability and risk, difficulties at completion, remedies, triggers for first registration and the funding aspects of buying, selling and leasing.


Module 2: Complex Property Transactions will take place on the afternoon of Friday 11 January and on Saturday 12 January 2019.


Topics covered include Compulsory first registration, land registry rules and complex land registry dealings, easements, transmissions, multi-unit developments, mapping, tax issues in conveyancing, local property tax, household charge and NPPR.


Module 3: Commercial Property Transactions will take place on the afternoon of Friday 8 February and on Saturday 9 February 2019.


Topics covered include Commercial lending, property issues in insolvency, examinership and liquidation, NAMA, the obligations relating to VAT, CGT and CAT, commercial leases, rent review, alienation and repair, how to negotiate and handle disputes and landlord and tenant reform proposals.
