Employment Law: Returning to the Workplace is a practical and up-to-date insight into employment issues arising from employees returning to the work place during times of covid-19. Topics include: GDPR and working from home, managing the workforce and the challenges arising from employees’ return to the workplace, and providing a safe working environment for employees.
 
Speakers and Chair include
Kate Colleary is a director of Pembroke Privacy and chairwoman of international data protection consulting practice, Strand Advisory. She is the Irish Country Leader for the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the world’s largest and most comprehensive global information privacy community. Kate is a Certified Data Protection Practitioner (CIPP/E), a Certified Information Privacy Management Professional (CIPM).  Kate also trains professionals undertaking the IAPP’s CIPP/E and CIPM exams. She previously led the Data Protection and IP team of an international law firm. Kate is a highly qualified and well-regarded data protection professional. She is a qualified solicitor and has many years’ experience of providing data protection consulting services. She is a consultant to the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland on their Data Protection post-graduate programme, and she lectures on the King’s Inns Data Protection courses. She has been a qualified practicing solicitor since 1999 and is the Principal of Colleary & Co, a law firm specialising in data protection and IP. She gained an honours degree in law from Trinity College Dublin in 1995. 
 
Melanie Crowley is Head of the Employment Law & Benefits team in Mason Hayes & Curran in Dublin. Her diverse practice covers the full range of employment law issues, both for employers and employees, as an advisor to clients on complex non-contentious workplace issues and as an experienced litigator before all employment related fora. Melanie is the go-to employment lawyer for some of Ireland’s biggest domestic and multi-national companies and employers
 
Richard Grogan is the principal of Richard Grogan & Associates. Richard is a recognised specialist in Employment Law, Capital Taxation and Litigation. Richard also has a strong knowledge of Taxation Law as it applies to Employers and Employees. Richard has been involved as the lead lawyer in some of the most challenging Employment Law cases. Richard acts for both employers and employees
 
Criona Turley, CEO & Co-Founder Capella Workplace Solutions, an Irish business with offices in Dublin and New York. Capella supports employers in ensuring that their staff are set up safely while working from home through remote training and risk-assessment. With a background in design and employee engagement, Criona is a mentor in the Smurfit Business School and has studied at UCD, DIT and Harvard University
