GDPR and Your Firm – eLearning Resource from the IP and DP Law Committee

Would you like a detailed and practical look at preparing your firm for the GDPR? Law Society Finuas Skillnet in partnership with the Intellectual Property & Data Protection Law Committee has prepared an eLearning resource to assist practitioners.

GDPR - How to get your law firm GDPR ready: a practical guide for practitioners

  • Fee: €115
  • CPD Hours: 3.5 Regulatory Matters (by eLearning)
  • Delivery Method: This is an eLearning course and is available online until 31/12/18

The General Data Protection Regulation came into effect on 25 May 2018.  GDPR represents an “evolution” of rights and obligations, but a “revolution” in respect of the administrative compliance burden and sanctions for non-compliance.  Law firms need to comply with increased data protection obligations and also need to show ‘accountability’. This will include a need to demonstrate compliance by having policies and procedures in place.

This on-line seminar is an opportunity to have a practical look at what is required. This is a practical seminar, which aims to give guidance to practitioners in order to assist them in becoming GDPR compliant. The session answers many frequently asked questions and includes details and practical guidance on:

  • The main requirements of GDPR including the main changes from existing data protection law
  • The Irish Data Protection Bill
  • Recommended steps for compliance
  • Recommended notices, policies and contracts which law firms should have in place to assist in evidencing GDPR compliance

To order the course:

  • Visit the Law Society’s website for more details and to book online
